GAUCHOWORLD

For me, my love of words came from reading stories as a child, whether it was Anne Frank’s diary, Harry Potter or Horrid Henry, I loved the way a story can be told to make you connect to a character - whether it be a connection drawn by love, hate, or both in equal measure.

As an Editor for Gauchoworld, I look to tell the stories of prominent figures and cultural ongoings within the world of sport, music and fashion, ensuring it’s the right people telling those stories. I also work to connect brands closer to their communities, and have worked with a range of clients - Footpatrol, Dr Martens and adidas to name a few - pushing them to demonstrate their commitment to burgeoning creative communities worldwide.

Combined with a stylistic photographic approach, I’m responsible for the words that present these people in a different light, sometimes as the human away from their set profession - Hector Bellerin for example - or paying respects to those who have paved the way in their set industries, Skepta being an example of this.

Other times, it’s about shining a light on those who we think are doing amazing work, and whilst mainstream publications might not cover them, we feel this is where we stand apart, spotting talent and potential before the crowd, countless instances include Loshh, Cheli Gharti and Aeliza.

In our debut in-print issue, entitled ‘New Beginnings’, I interviewed Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jaffa Saba, TJ Sawyerr, InAddition and Deema.

In our second in-print issue, entitled ‘Growth’ I interviewed BenjiFlow, Iretidayo Zaccheaus, Rene Bleriot and Ojie Edoburun.

In our third in-print issue, I interviewed p-rallel, MJ Déziel and Ysaora Thibus. This is available to purchase here.
